Henry Louis Gates Daughter: The U.S. literary-critical, professor, historian, filmmaking, and public intellectual Henry Louis “Skip” Gates Jr. (born September 16, 1950), is a professor at Harvard University and Director of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research. His previous African-American novels were rediscovered, he had long forgotten, and he wrote extensively in the western canon on the recognition of African-American literature.
Since 2012, Gates has been the host of the TV series Discovering Your Roots on PBS, besides creating and hosting the previous series about the history and genealogy of influential Americans.
In 1979, Gates married Sharon Lynn Adams and merged the work of experts from genealogy, culture and genetic history to educate guests about their ancestors’ lives and backgrounds. Elizabeth Gates, the daughter of famous Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, was twenty years old and had a major stroke four months ago. They had two daughters together until they were divorced in 1999. She can now dream about it remarkably.
